this talk, I’ll introduce the recent trends in game artificial intelligence to
solve modern video games. It has been demonstrated that the combination of
modern artificial intelligence techniques can help to handle huge complexity of
traditional games such as Go and Poker. After the big success in human vs.
machine competition, researchers gradually move to the next big question that artificial
intelligence can play modern video games at the level of expert human players.
For example, there have been studies to solve Angry Birds, Fighting Games,
StarCraft, Doom, Classic Console Games, and so on. Although it’s very early
stage of research development, some studies using deep reinforcement learning
demonstrated big potential to solve video games.
