Abstract: 

Self-driving technology is considered a key factor for the development of the unmanned vehicles such as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), unmanned surface vehicle (USV), unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). Various unmanned techniques are required depending on the purpose of the unmanned vehicle. However, self-driving technology is necessary for any purposes. If this technology is used in the vehicle, that should be able to safely follow the desired path or move to a destination. Since conventional methods for self-driving are highly dependent on sensors, there are problems that are the robustness to environmental changes and the cost. Therefore, to solve these problems, self-driving technologies using artificial intelligence (AI) have been introduced. For example, the end-to-end system using convolutional neural network contains the skills of the obstacle detection and the vehicle control. Since both the performance and the real-time processing are important in the unmanned vehicle which has the limited resources, there are various learning and network techniques for self-driving technology based on AI. In this talk, the trend of self-driving technology using AI will be introduced.
