Speaker: Prof. Sang-Heon Lee (College of Medicine, Korea University) Date: May 13, (Mon.), 2019 Time: 05:00 PM Location: Woo Jung Information & Communication bldg., Room 601 Hosted by Dept. of Brain & Cognitive Engineering, Korea University / Center for Artificial Intelligence Research, Korea University / Institute of Brain and Cognitive Engineering, Korea University / BK21+ Global Leader Development Division in Brain Engineering, Korea University / Interdisciplinary Major in Brain and Cognitive Science Abstract: In June 2017, Korea government selected Korea University Medical Center as the main organizer of the P-HIS development project, which is one of the nine national strategic projects of Korea as the first step in preparing for the fourth industrial revolution era. The P-HIS development project aims to build a cloud-based hospital information system that capable of integrating and analyzing various medical data, and establishing a basis for implementation of precision medicine care by disseminating it to domestic and overseas medical institutions. The P-HIS development group will lay the foundation for producing consistent medical data, and will establish digital healthcare and next-generation hospital information systems that combine cloud, IoT, and artificial intelligence. To do this, P-HIS development group will standardize all the medical data from various hospitals and systematize the way to collect medical data to develop the hospital information system that can be used widely. With the hospital information system, first, to ensure consistency of reference data through terminology, code standardization, second, provide cloud-based HIS reflects clinical process of all the hospitals, third, in addition to clinical data through HIS, the basic goal is to establish a base environment for realizing precision medicine through expansion of a linkage channel that can accumulate wearable health device and genome inspection information. In the future, various precision medicine data analysis service and other additional services will be provided. If the P-HIS Project is successfully done, the current medical paradigm of diagnosis and treatment will be transferred to prevention and care, and patient customized clinical treatment. Furthermore, accurate P-HIS will allow to reduce medical cost and improve the quality of medical service, which lead to increase revenues in the healthcare industry. Through this, the cornerstone of the forth industrial revolution in medical field will be created. |
