This course covers both neurosience and engineering approaches to the design and use of neural prostheses, whicj restore or supplement function of the nervous system lost by disease or injury. We will study neurotechnology and neural rehabilitation using cohlear implants, retinal implants, deep-brain stimulation, and functional neuromuscular simulation.
